Legacy

[TRIGGER WARNING: The following content may feel personal to some. Read at your own risk and consider adjusting your future accordingly.]

Look at how you are living your life. Is that really how you want to be remembered?

More importantly, is that how you want to live out the rest of your days?

Ask yourself those questions before you act out of superiority or dominance, ignorance or phobia, jealousy or insecurity, or just plain old bitterness.

It's a huge waste of time to fill what's left of your life by being anything but happy, kind, helpful, generous, open-minded, and compassionate.

You haven't earned the right to be an ass, anymore than the world owes you for the shit you've been through. No one owes you anything. And you don't have the right to treat anyone as if they do.

Put a smile on your face and greet the day with respect and gratitude instead of indignance and selfishness.

Because when you leave this world, and you will, you hopefully will want to be thought of as having improved the world you left behind, not in having the world exhale a collective sign of relief that you are gone.

It's a choice. Choose wisely.
